Why You Should Donate

Why We Need You

In order to complete the documentary so it will be available to the general public and eligible for film festivals worldwide, we need to raise $90,000.

Most documentaries of this caliber have budgets twice or even three times that amount.

The $90,000 will go to enhancing the color, upgrading the audio mix, securing the rights for the music and licensing of still photography, as well as compensating those who have contributed their time, energy and efforts in the production of the film.

Please help us preserve over 100 years of our precious and unique Jewish heritage.

Still not convinced? Here are more reasons.

1) We are telling a story that needs to be preserved for future generations. We want our families, students and others to understand that this once in a lifetime environment made living in Jewish west Denver a magical and unique experience.

2) Those who lived this story are a dying element of our society and soon there will be no one left to tell that story.

3) West Colfax was unique and special and we have captured that on film.

4) Most documentaries of this nature cost anywhere between $150,000 - $500,000. Some as much as $1,000,000. We are keeping the cost below $100,000.

5) Archiving family stories and histories is an ongoing gift to future generations. We are duty bound to preserve our history for our children.

6) Jews have an obligation to share the stories - this is one reason why we observe Passover. It’s a time to reflect and a time to share their stories of our ancestors and what makes us special.  This is the essence of West Side Stories, "L'dor V'dor".
